Rollerbeetle Discussion Thread
Well I'm kind of surprised that there hasn't been a rollerbeetle thread posted on here yet. Do you guys seriously hate it that much?
Anyways, if you are one of the people that actually do like rollerbeetle and you want to discuss it, I'm making this for discussion of it.
Personally right now I'm finding this lag killing, I'm also working on trying to improve my 479k score with a better ending. Oh and I finally got my r3 Gamer title yesterday. Anyways, how has your rollerbeetle weekend been so far?
*If you have come here to say lolrollerbeetle, don't bother, your post will be reported for spam if you have nothing good to add to the discussion.*

It's because RBR and how to post high scores in it has been discussed to death.
The only thing that would bring about a real discussion over it now would be a change to the arena.

Rollerbeetle is frustrating. Lag kills me. I'm in 1st place half the damn match and a lag spike hits and im suddenly 30sec behind everyone. (exaggerating ofc)
Its all about timing really. Save your Hardens. Use speed boosts around corners, etc.

I understand it has been discussed to death. I've read most of the discussions.
Honestly I wish ArenaNet would fix up the lag a bit in Rollerbeetle, it would be easier to get top times without the rubberbanding.
Also, whats an event without a bit of rollerbeetle discussion.

i wish the rollerbeetle racing was available all year round, i love it. But yeh the lag is horrific, hate going round a sharp corner thinking your first, then you snap back and your stuck on the corner and infact last.

Thumbs up.
+Why play when you can DA.
Or heck, even cupcake farming is preferable to the lag fest "oh he's impossibly far in front let's blast him" that beetles is.

It's not lolrollerbeetles it's lollerbeetles.
I've not been since a year or so, are they still giving out mini greased lightnings? I'm not sure if they even gave them out last Canthan New Year?

I get my fair share of rubberbanding and lag in RB but I keep playing anyway. Better then Dragon arena which is full of sync groups and rude people.

There have never been prizes awarded for the birthday event. They are only awarded at the Canthan New Year.
I know this to my cost as the only time I kept a top 100 place until the end was on the 2nd birthday celebrations and then we found out afterwards that there were no prizes.
On the positive side, I got Rank 4 gamer this time, and have rather a lot of victory tokens LOL.
Had lots of fun races too and raced several of the top racers.
Yuris and Martin are almost uncatchable even with no powerups and Ewok is fun to race against.
I just dont have the dexterity to strafe around the corners LOL but managed a fairly respectable 475K personal best this time so far.

I guess there would be more discussion if ppl were be able to enjoy Rollerbeetle.
Unfortunately, Anet makes it impossible to play with their fkn laggs and stucks.
I still dont get why they added the AFK-Rings, cmon nobody's playing a PC-game to go outdoor!? Sad, ppl're only interested in titles.
In my opinion this event was one of the worst. In addition ive got quite bad luck this time
And guys.... plz learn to use ram as a speedboost - retarded scrubs make it even more annoyable. If u wanna kill ppl play RA.

Rollerbettle is my 3rd favorite way to get gamer points (snowball arena being first and costume brawl being 2nd).
Other then doing it to occasionally grind for more skillz points its not that fun (too much luck and kinda frustrating when people use items to attack you when you are in 6th place rather then attack the guys in the lead).

Ive never had any serious lagg problems in a Rollerbeetle race,
just the problem with it is that it takes much more time to get gamer pts,
and no im not like always last or anything i ussually win anyway, but xD, its just that dragon arena is much faster.

I've often had to save this as a viable way for getting back into the race after someone stopped me dead in my tracks, but yeah, if I get ahead of someone to the point I know I can use it to stay ahead, I will snuff his *** on the spot!
But the real gripe I have is the number of times you get stopped in the race. Why couldn't there be a more fair rule for just slowing down competitors so it gives everyone a fairer advantage? Too much MARIO KART FTL!

I actually quit playing during this event because of that. After 20ish hours of playing, it was just too frustrating trying to get a top time (and knowing I had several opportunities to do so), just to get kded by ram while the guy who used it was still in the middle of a srb or have the last place guy lightning me 3 times.
People aren't racing the game to get top scores; they're doing it to kill others and get their precious 7 victory tokens.
Anet should split the game into 2 modes - one where the number of 1st place finishes is rewarded and one where the top times are rewarded.

No, they should keep it like that. IF you play carefully you shouldnt be knocked that too often, and if you are even about to get a top100 time you most probably will be out of reach anyhow..
Sure, its annoying to have pricks chain distracting lunges and knockdowns at you from a screen away, just when your srb has ran out and you dont manage to hit the echoed srb in time - so it expires, on a perfect looking run. Had it happen to me a few times..
